(June 27, 2016) – CivicSmart, Inc., an innovator of patented on-street parking sensors and other “Smart Parking” technologies, recently exhibited at the Smart Cities Innovation Summit in Austin, TX, with Current, powered by GE, an energy startup within GE’s walls servicing intelligent cities, in addition to commercial and industrial customers. As an incubator for innovation, the Summit highlights best of breed technology companies offering leading IoT solutions for smart city applications.
Now part of Current’s Intelligent Environments ecosystem, CivicSmart’s solutions will work in concert with Current’s intelligent light fixtures to enable cities to better manage their existing parking infrastructure.
“Since establishing our partnership with Current this spring, we have been working in concert to integrate GE’s smart LED platform with CivicSmart’s leading parking solutions to bring new efficiencies to cities,“ stated Mike Nickolaus, President and CEO of CivicSmart.

The efficiencies gained through this system allow cities to better manage both their parking assets and enforcement staff while also improving the utilization of parking resources to help drivers to find open spaces faster.
Based in Milwaukee, CivicSmart’s patented “Smart Parking” solutions can be found today in 2,000 cities around the world. CivicSmart’s solutions include vehicle detection sensors, smart parking meters, wireless handheld enforcement devices, electronic permits, and comprehensive data management systems.
